Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Serves 250 at Tabitha's Place
Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Members plating 250 meals for the community.
JESUP - Wayne Memorial Hospital's Auxiliary recently plated 250 hearty dinners in two hours for people in
need. The Hospital Auxiliary, comprised of 65 active volunteers, chose to partner with Tabitha's Place in Jesup
as their community service project.
"We are committed to helping our patients and community both inside and outside Wayne Memorial," said
Hospital CEO Joe Ierardi. "The Auxiliary continues to reach our community in various ways and serving at
Tabitha's Place is one more example," he added. Tabitha's Place Director Janice Phillips shared, "We are
grateful to Wayne Memorial for providing this assistance and look forward to a continuing partnership."
Wayne Memorial Hospital, whose mission is to provide high quality health care services to all patients, built
a new state-of-the-art facility in 2007. It is the 4th largest employer in Wayne County with 425 employees, 84
beds and is the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospital's 2010 Small Hospital of the Year. In addition, Wayne
Memorial is one of 61 hospitals in Georgia to be placed in the Presidential category of the Georgia Hospital
Association's Partnership for Health and Accountability Quality Honor Roll for 2010. The Hospital Auxiliary,
whose mission is to provide support to hospital staff, patients and visitors, donated $35,000 and 19,804 hours
back to Wayne Memorial and the community at large in 2010.
